Boppin’ Babies is a fun and stimulating 45 minute music program designed by a music therapist to enhance babies’ development and help you use music in the home.
You don’t have to be musical to attend as the focus is on the children learning through involvement.
The program is designed specifically for babies and toddlers to enhance early childhood development and nurture relationships between you and your baby through musical play and interactions.
It also provides practical hands-on ideas for using music at home to stimulate, calm and interact with baby. Parents and relatives who attend classes with their babies enjoy increased confidence when using music in the home.
How does it work?
Boppin’ Babies sessions are held once a week for 10 weeks during school terms. For information on specific dates and times check our website.
Sessions are conducted in groups of up to 10 families.
Sessions are offered in both age brackets to allow each child to participate in a developmentally appropriate environment, and in combination groups for those with more than one child, or little ones who enjoy interacting and learning from older children.
Baby specific groups are typically aged from birth to 12 months.
Toddler specific groups cater for young (12 - 18 months) and older (18 months +) toddlers. This allows us to adapt the program to suit their changing social, cognitive and physical needs.
Parents participate in the sessions with their children in singing, moving to music, playing instruments (such as shakers, drums, chimes, and bells) and improvising musical play. No prior musical ability is required! And don’t worry – all singing is conducted in a group setting, you wont be singled out!!
