What are eBooks?

CHILDREN'S EBOOKS are books that children read on computer. These books are beautifully illustrated and written, just like the paper versions you would buy for your children. The only difference is that children read these books while using the computer. If your children can use a mouse to click on icons then they can read an eBook.

Your children can choose to read an eBook in one of three ways:

• Fully assisted where the story is read to them. They listen to the words and turn the page when the reading stops.


• Partially assisted where the story is read at a much slower pace and the words are highlighted as each word is read outloud. The children can follow along and start to recognise words for themselves. This is great for children learning to read.


• Unassisted without hearing the book read to them.

Children's E Books was started by Anne Garton in 2008. Anne has been writing text and story books for both primary and secondary students since 1993 and selling her work through various publishing companies.

Anne's own children loved playing on their computer, however Anne believed they were not reading as much as she did when she was young because of this. So Anne decided that instead of publishing her books in paperback format she would develop her stories as eBooks. In this way her children could still have all the enjoyment of using their computer, but at the same time improve their literacy levels and hopefully develop their own joy of reading in a way that they loved.

Anne writes all the books and she is assisted by her team of talented illustrators.
