With the motor on add the butter and sugar,then slowly add the eggs golden syrup watching closely to see when the dough comes together you may not need all the liquid.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and give a quick kneed to bring together.
Divide into two wrap one in clingfilm and put in the fridge.
Sprinkle some more flour and roll out the rest of the dough out to about 5ml thick and cut out the shapes with your cutters.
Make a small hole in the top of each shape for the ribbon.
Line your baking trays with the paper place your cookies on top and bake at 160 for around 15 minutes check after 10.
Once the cookies are baked turn them out onto a cooling rack.
Icing:
Make the icing by sifting the icing sugar and mixing the boling water to the sugar till a glossy smooth paste is made.
Thread the ribbon through the holes of the cookies then ice.
